I have like three drafts of different posts open in different tabs, and I have been pedantic in oliviacirce's direction about portrayal of geek community interaction in different canons for like a month. But instead of that, wheeee linkspam.

Last night I watched Two And a Half Men and they were kidding around about getting medical marijuana. They were rolling joints on the kitchen table on screen. Then I read that article about the Emerald Triangle, and all I could think was, "Congratulations, you have glaucoma!"

I may have to point this out to my sister, who may have borderline glaucoma. She may not be amused, though.

So, signs of the time. Smoking pot becomes legit enough to be an activity on tv, it could possibly be legal in California after the November election, etc.

I've never been interested in smoking, but the means of production and relative acceptance fascinate me.

Two characters, one of whom is household help to the other, basically rolled joints together at the kitchen table, while one admitted to being a long-time regular user and being glad to know the other one "liked the happy weed." But then they did not actually smoke up on camera.

And I kept thinking, "Wow, this would have NEVER happened on ALF...."

Then again, you know the Petries were totally smokin' up off camera before going to sleep in their cute little twin beds at night....
