Things I made tonight:
1. A portabello mushroom "brisket" that was quite tasty, but probably not two hours of work worth of tasty. It basically tasted like my go-to mushroom bourguignon recipe, which requires less effort. Lesson learned, mushrooms taste the same if you simmer them in wine and veggie broth as they do if you braise them in wine and veggie broth.
2. Fuck Yeah Transformative Works on Tumblr. Apparently it didn't exist before. Updates to be totally arbitrary and random. Woo.
Things I didn't make tonight:
1. The honey cake I've done all the prep work for. Maybe tomorrow. I was tired after all that braising. But I did eat apples with lavender honey, which was excellent.
Number of random corporations that have sent me cheery Rosh Hashanah emails: 6
