When the Daban Urnud made contact, BLI was waiting for them.

Written as a New Years Resolution for tei, combining two of her requests into one story. She asked for backstory on the Second Advent, and she also asked for Korse/Party Poison backstory; I decided that those were two great tastes that would probably go together quite well.

A word on the crossover: Neither of my fabulous betas, oliviacirce or were_duck, had actually read Anathem, so I guess the story works out pretty well without detailed knowledge of that canon (in large part because it exists in a space Stephenson left intentionally blank). Please be warned, however, that the material it covers is hugely spoilery for plot-relevant worldbuilding that happens very late in Anathem.
