Your main fandom of the year?
Bandom, especially Panic at the Disco. Up until Bandom Stuffsit of last year, I knew nothing about them; since then? Um, they have sort of taken over my life. I've never fallen in over my head into a fandom like this before and I'm loving discovering all of the parts of the fannish experience I've missed out by having my fannish community only be my RL community.
And now I've come full circle and written a Stuffsit story--pretty good for someone who up until the Yuletide New Year Resolutions last year hadn't posted completed fic online since 1998.
Your favorite film you watched this year?
Zerophilia. It wasn't made this year, but it is amazing. It needs a fandom, hardcore. Also every fandom needs Zerophilia AUs.
Your favorite book read this year?
Among Others by Jo Walton. A FANNISH NOVEL ABOUT FANDOM, just to bring things around in a circle. Or something.
Your favorite tv show of the year?

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
I feel like I discovered *fandom* this year, writ large. The DS9 rewatch community, the bandom community, Bay Area con-going fandom. I lost a huge amount of my social restraint and dove in head-first and LOVED IT.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
XM:FC I think, actually. I am probably the only person who came out of the movie theatre shipping Charles/Erik less than I did when I went in, and dealing with the amount of personally-triggery stuff that happened in that fandom means I basically can't be a part of it except via recs from trusted sources. But the good sides of this year more than made up for that.
Oh yeah, and I somehow fell completely out of Doctor Who fandom, which was a bummer.
Your fiction boyfriend of the year?
Uh. Christopher Isherwood? But he's more my fiction snarky BFF who eggs me on to be ridiculous while I egg him on to be ridiculous and the we have long chats about how it's awesome to be queer and we don't get straight people.
Your fiction girlfriend of the year?
Raven. I wish X-Men had been all about her.
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
That is hard--this has been a year of a whole.lot.of.squee. It is probably one of the many shows I went to this year--it's a haze of live music and awesome people and ridiculous travel in pursuit of the above.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?
Hobbit movie. New fun. album, new Neon Trees album. Seeing fun. live again and hopefully seeing The Dear Hunter. Having Ian and Dallon write with Panic, hopefully!
