It's not really the same thing, but I watched A Room With a View with my mom a few months ago. The protagonist got engaged to this upper-class dude who was an acting kinda gay but then again he was upper-class kind of character (my mom kept going "Is he gay? I think he's gay"). And then the local vicar (played in this production by Arthur Weasley) came around to tell the protagonist that her fiancé was not a marrying man, no really, you don't understand, he just shouldn't get married. To a lady. She airily went "I think perhaps I'm not the marrying kind of girl" and Vicar Arthur Weasley was like "We are not talking about the same thing."

Um. Yay D.H. Lawrence?
