Yeah, what's weird about Children of Eden is that Adam's choice comes down to G-d vs. Eve, instead of any broader issues. It's actually one of my favorite parts of the musical, even if it would be one of the WTF-est parts if there wasn't the whole RING OF STONES thing. Or, like, the Yonah plot...
But I really like the whole bit where Adam's freaking out and asks Eve if she'd un-eat the apple if she could and she says she wouldn't. Sure, later on when she has to deal with childbirth and then has to deal with Cain being trouble, she starts to think that rebellion seems less cool when you're not the one doing it. But she's confident throughout and I love it.
