The local public library is the Chicago Public Library, but I suspect the neighborhood branch is quite small. She was talking about taking the kids on a field trip there, though.

They're fifth graders, but there's a really wide range in their reading skills. Most of the kids don't speak English at home, so any reading practice they can get is good.

And I'm going back to work today, and so I expect to see a drastic drop in the number and length of my posts again.
